Mary began her yoga journey in 2009 after completing a 200-hour, all styles certification with Ganesh College of Yoga. Shortly after completing her 200-hours, Mary studied under Suzanne Manafort (Newington Yoga Center) diving into Embodyoga and taking courses for Mindful Yoga Therapy for Veterans. Mary completed an additional 200-hour certification with Be.Yoga in Avon, CT. She brings a calming style to the practice of yoga. Engaging a gentle flow and mindfulness, encouraging acceptance and inclusion.
Finding a passion for teaching children, Mary became certified in Children's and Family Yoga and founded Balasana Yoga. In her classes and workshops, she invites kids to be mindful with movement, creativity and laughter. She creates an inviting space for her students of all ages.
In her spare time, Mary enjoys spending time with family, especially her son Ryan. She loves traveling, hiking, reading a good book and writing. She has a love for food and cooking. Mary finds enjoyment in meeting new people and building community. She hopes to continue to share a gracious smile and strength to those who meet her.
